This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you access or use the StudyMate mobile and web application. By using StudyMate, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account Profile Data: Mobile numbers, unique usernames, and local passwords created when registering an account.
• Preferences & Progress Metrics: Quiz scores, study durations, curriculum progress tracking, accuracy indices, and peer ranking statistics.
• Device & Usage Data: Local app performance logs, device information, and configuration settings saved on your terminal.

How We Use Information

StudyMate uses the collected data solely for providing educational services and app functionality. We use the information to:

• Initialize, customize, and maintain your StudyMate dashboard profile.
• Calculate real-time score indices, study badges, and local leaderboard positions.
• Ensure secure sign-in operations and prevent unauthorized access.
• Provide and improve offline features, syllabus notes, and PYQ paper views.
• Ensure we do not sell or trade any personal data with third-party advertisers.

AI Chat Usage

StudyMate features the "Zorixa AI Assistant" portal to answer student queries about educational subjects and chapters. Messages sent within the AI chat interface are processed dynamically to formulate helpful responses. Chat history may be retained locally in the app cache to optimize performance and coordinate natural conversation streams. Chat details are strictly used to support your study flow and are not shared with external advertising companies.

Notifications

StudyMate may send local or push notifications related to learning activities, daily streaks, mock exam updates, quiz reminders, and application version changes. You can enable or disable these alerts at any time via your device or application system settings.

Data Storage

StudyMate may store user account information locally on the device's persistent sandbox storage. We use browser local storage mechanisms (`localStorage`) to preserve user login sessions, localized preferences, theme selections, and offline progress indices. Additionally, user records are securely synchronized with Google Firestore infrastructure for cross-device authentication and live leaderboards.

Account Security

We implement industry-standard secure methods to protect your personal information. Database reads and writes are protected via Firebase Security Rules, and passwords are local checks or stored in private database paths. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party tools to facilitate authentication, database storage, and app diagnostics. These services include:

• Google Firebase / Firestore: To securely store, manage, and verify user profiles and real-time chat telemetry.
• FontAwesome & Google Fonts: To load UI icons and modern design typography.

These third parties may access your data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Children's Privacy

While StudyMate is designed for student education (including students under the age of 13), we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without parental consent. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers. Parents who believe their child has shared information with us can contact us to request data deletion.

User Rights

You have the right to access, update, or correct the personal data you provide. You also have the right to opt-out of notifications and reset local application caches directly from within the app settings.

Data Deletion Request

You can request the complete deletion of your stored account data at any time. To purge your account details, scores, and synchronized chat messages from the cloud database, please contact our support team at iftarulkhan17@gmail.com. We will process your deletion request within 72 hours.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy. You are advised to review this page periodically for any modifications.
